This beautiful couple was to be wed at the Gorgeous Columbus Trade Center in Columbus GA. We arrived there and got to know everyone. They had 100% great support from everyone, just how we like it. They were definitely on time, and we got to get extra footage, and not be rushed. Prelude Events with Ms. Quian Pickett Huff and Mr. E.J. Jackson, the wedding coordinators, designed and guided the event extremely smoothly. People have no idea how much a wedding coordinator will make your day far more enjoyable. They took all the worry out of the bride and groom's hands, so they could enjoy their day, as it should be.

Wow, how the day came together in beautiful blue splendor! I started my wedding photography www.amir-leon.com day as normal... Packing the necessary gear the night before into the vehicle. We always bring 3 or more cameras, who knows what could happen! Ms. Denisha was at her hotel, just a small jaunt away from the destination venue of the Columbus Botanical Garden, in Columbus Georgia. https://columbusbotanicalgarden.org/

Preparations were underway, her dress was unique and beautiful in this mermaid gorgeous blue. As usual, the air of happiness and uncertainty was afloat. Of course, I'm used to that, and I do what I can to assure everyone that this is how it is almost every wedding. We can all talk about it before the day, or when it's not our wedding, but when it's YOUR wedding, all the feelings come together, for better or even better!

Once we were done getting the preparation coverage, we went to Starbucks, as it is what you DO in 2019. Then we went straight to the Columbus Botanical Garden to prepare for Ms. Denisha's car to arrive. We staked out the current setup/situation in the Garden and took the absolutely STUNNING 50 shades of blue setup by Ms. Annette Ernest herself of www.designsbyannetteernest.com

The Garden has never looked that good ever, since I've been visiting. Mrs. Ernest of www.designsbyannetteernest.com continues to provide her clients dream and over-deliver! The garden staff themselves were impressed with the output. The bride had such style, and as a nerdy photographer, BLUE goes with everyone's skin so well, because everyone's skin contains red. So we were setup for fantastic success on a conscious atmosphere and subconscious color level.

As the night went along, the crowd warmed up and the party began shortly after the ceremony. The food was delicious and the weather was PERFECT. This was the perfect venue for an intimate medium sized wedding. The celebration went long into the night, for a party that no one wanted to leave.

1. A great wedding photographer does not need a great venue to make world class images. Inexperienced wedding photographers do not have enough experience or knowledge to TRANSFORM your experience to it's grand potential. And no matter how "good" a photographer is, if their SPECIALTY is not wedding photography, they will have no idea WHERE the actual wedding is, and therefore not know where they should be photographing.

2. Everything except your photography and video will all magically disappear at the stroke of 12! Your delicious cake will be devoured, your flowers will die, and your venue will throw you out within 24 hours. And most of your relatives will return to their regular lives. Your photography IS your wedding.

3. Photography is powerful. Photography is the one thing you can never replace, you will change cars, houses, and your clothes, but your photography and those special moments are completely un-repeatable and will never change, and therefore is one of your greatest life investments.

4. If you have no wedding coordinator (We highly recommend having a wedding coordinator), as many weddings with less than 100 people do not, it is your EXPERIENCED wedding photographer that will assist you in keeping up with your wedding timeline on the day of your wedding. Your photographer is the ONLY vendor that will be near you all day. Your relationship with your photographer will probably be a lifetime relationship as well.

5. All you need for a wedding is a few loved ones, yourself, preacher, and your photographer. Everything else is optional.

Wow, one of the best parties I've been invited to. The day started out at the hotel, where the magic begins. The families were such nice people. Life is so much better when great people tie the knot. We moved from the hotel to the Columbus Botanical Garden , and all around the premises, even out into the forest with the pretty fountain. All the friends and family were ready for a great day, which is %80 of the battle! We had a detail of Marines to service the wedding... (Just doesn't get better than THAT, if you didn't know!) The forecast had %80 rain, but the RAIN HELD OFF all night until the next day, talk about MEANT TO BE. DJ 03 was there to start and pump the crowd, and OH was it a Paaaarty! Columbus Fashion in the Chattahoochee

Yes, the cold has almost STOPPED! Back to 100 ISO weather. For this episode, I was able to catch up with the world known model Rebecca Heckard. Columbus is such a diverse land mass, who knew there are partial beaches, cliffs, seas, and obviously the infamous River of Death all within a 25 minute drive. I warmed up the camera and she warmed up the fashion, and we set out on what would become a partial HIKE. Yes and entire HIKE. A hike where upper and lower body strength was required just to access the location... Imagine that with all your gear and fashion. No vehicles here, lol. At first I thought the path to this gorgeous rock was clear... Naaa, it's never THAT EASY. I shot the entire series with a 35mm and 50mm, in COOOLD water, BAREFOOT. We used a sandbag and tripod combo to anchor and not be dragged down the river. At least no random Sea Creatures swam through. You never know what you are going to get around here, it wouldn't surprise me to see a 6 foot catfish... Which in THEORY, should taste good, but in reality, would be stabbed to death with tripod, and a Canon 5DSR would get it's new space age plastic frame tested by being used as a Big Fish Harpoon, lol. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, enjoy the series!

2nd Annual Caribbean Night

I had never been to the Caribbean Night that Mrs. Annette of https://www.designsbyannetteernest.com/ . It was definitely set to be a beautiful and cultural surprise. From the amazing dancers from Hawaii, to the storytelling music and dancing from Panama, you had destination representation that would fulfill any visitor. Sandals, Delta Vacations, Carnival, Alpha Worldwide Travel and the Marriot all had representatives that were eager to showcase their beautiful offerings. Representing the home team of Columbus Georgia, we had Jessica McCluckin-Gates who provided an entire fashion show for the attendees. The models brought High end fashion directly to Columbus, like it's never been before. Who knows, one day, Columbus could become a fashion thoroughfare. It was a non-stop enjoyable gala/party. What's my advice? I think you should contact Mrs. Annette ASAP to see if you can get tickets for next year, RIGHT NOW, as tickets sold out, and for good reason. PHOTOGRAPHY TIP FRIDAY:  Today I was asked what type of a class on Photography, etc, that I thought would be good to have created next, here is my response:  

"The "No BS way to turn landscape and fine art photography into cash." The WORLD is waiting on such a tutorial. So far, the advice is to take part in photo contest, which will leave you with a small hole in your pocket, and is closer to playing the lottery. Versus, making prints and other products and "taking them to market", just like people took products from farms to market past and present. ...A poor photograph well marketed, will outsell a phenomenal photograph, poorly marketed. So far, in my observation, not you in particular, but most, seems to be the people actually making money on their OWN, do not give classes. Definition of "On their own"... Not begging a magazine, or other institution, that will ONLY talk to you, IF you have an AGENT (My own experience.) While instead meaning, FROM your production base -> straight TO your customer. Teaching people to join the unwashed masses to get inline to be reviewed and approved by the long line of Gatekeepers, so you can then be given a small percentage of what the customer pays. While instead, at this time in history, 2018, you can buy a printer, camera, and put a call into China or India and order your own stock and do the exact same thing that Burlington, Walmart, Family Dollar, and the billionaire business list goes on does. It seems most classes, not necessarily yours again, are aimed at hobbyist, which IS the largest market for photography classes."

2018 Wetumpka, Alabama Bridal Show

Ms. Latoya of Kings Formals put on one of the best bridal shows ever. What a high end quality crowd of people. We journeyed the 1.5 hours to attend this beautiful event. Coffee and breakfast was the first stop, yes, Starbucks should be sending me free coffee in old age, lol. When we arrived, most people were setting up. The thrill was in the air. Vendors brought out spectacular products and had access to beautiful venues to reflect beauty upon a bride's day. We got in contact with Ms. Latoya and were able to quickly locate our Vendor table. We brought work from a gorgeous wedding that actually was incepted right there in the Wetumpka civic center. Mrs. Ernest of https://www.designsbyannetteernest.com/ was busy at work setting up for the gala after party, which is coming next with gorgeous flower arrangements and spectacular vistas of the Wetumpka Casino, which is next door. Once the event took off, lovely music accompanied us, and we were so lucky for Ms. Tonya Terry to be our host. Ms. Terry kept everyone excited and having the time of their Bridal show lives from beginning to end. The gowns were many and various and no one was at a loss for beautiful variety, which can be seen right here below in the blog. For the tech-geek-photo people, only one camera was used with 2 lenses to capture this entire show. The Canon 35mm F2 is, The Canon 85mm F1.2, and the Canon 5DSR, which is literally 3 cameras in one. First in a series of Fashion and Beauty blogs from Amir Leon. Photographer: Amir Leon Model: Taelor Moore. We hit downtown for a quick shoot! No backdrops had been planned. Taelor had just cut her precious hairs, lol. So now we had an entire different look to her, and combined it with a Veros Style black outfit. No one else was out shooting that day, which is very unlike downtown Columbus GA. Some models look pretty and happy all the time, and some have a lot more range. Taelor has a range for smiling and the somber look and the experience to back it up! When wearing black, sure you can smile with black on, but a somber face does the genre justice. I think we were just running out of mosquitos that day, and now all our mosquitos are sleeping, just building up a hunger to feast on us next year!

So many people go and purchase these new outfits, then they proceed to take them to the movies or a night out on the town with friends or the special person.. All hogwash... lol ...New hot clothes are MADE for Fashion shoots... No one has a viable memory of that new outfit they spilled spaghetti on... Unless you are counting that Cellphone picture that makes them into instant Bobbleheads, lol. When you're ready to make that next move or simply rock that new outfit...
